In the land of smartphones, the old saying “bigger is better” seems to be what manufacturers are taking to heart currently. You've got the Samsung Galaxy Notes, the HTC Sensations, the Dell Streaks (a tablet-phone) and LG is coming up with the 5-inch Optimus Vu. Gone are the days that handsets with 3.5 or 4-inch displays are considered huge, they're now becoming just part of the norm so to speak.
However, it doesn't necessarily follow that users are looking at things the same way. We know, size matters, especially in terms of functionality. After all, who would enjoy viewing photos or videos on a tiny screen, right? At the same time, who would enjoy pocketing a device with a 7-inch screen? Certainly not us, and we bet not you, too. Different sizes have different trade-offs and, as we've known based on our experiences, that display size “sweet spot” depends on the user. We guess you could say “different strokes for different folks” on this one.
Still, we're curious. For you Techies, what is the best or most ideal display size for a smartphone? 3 inches, 4 inches, 5 inches? Let us know your thoughts in the poll and/or comments section below.
