We reviewed the NX100 at the tail-end of 2010 (it got a 4 out of 5 stars rating from us, BTW) and, since then, we became interested in when good ol' Sammy will bring its successor here. Well, good news for those like us who've been waiting for it as the Korean-titan has just announced the NX200 E.V.I.L (electronic viewfinder, interchangeable lens) camera here in the Philippines. That's over a year after the local arrival of its predecessor but, hey, better late than never, right?
So, what will the new NX200 bring to the table? Well, for starters, this bad boy boasts a high pixel count to the tune of 20.3 megapixels and an ISO range of 100 – 12800 for more detail even in low-light situations. The NX200 also has a 3-inch VGA AMOLED display and is capable of shooting HD 1080p videos. Thanks to Samsung's own i-Function 2.0 lenses, users can adjust a set of lens parameters easily without having to take their eyes off the image they're shooting. Plus points for convenience there. Then there's the Smart Filter function that enables photos to be taken with a creative twist without having to manually change the filter. Nice!
We particularly liked the NX100's stylish design and it looks like the NX200 follows on that. Now for the SRP. You can snag the NX200 for P39,990 a pop, a good P4,000 more than its predecessor's initial asking price here. We're expecting a lot from this baby and if it's as good as advertised, then we're sold.
