A lot of us want to own a VAIO especially with its sleek looks, unparalleled mystique, and powerful specs, but most of the time, it just can't be done. This latest model, the P89,999 Sony VAIO VPC-S117GG/B (or VAIO S for short) is the biggest tease we've ever faced because it's the fastest PC we've ever tested!

Here's the skinny on this not-so-skinny laptop: It runs on an Intel Core i5 processor. Now, the Core i5 isn't exactly the fastest in Intel's portfolio (that honor belongs to the Core i7), but trust us when we say that you'll never have to complain about the speed of the VAIO S. And with a new proc, we reckon it could go head-to-head with the new line MacBook Pros.

On the outside, there's nothing much that can be said about the VAIO S other than the fact that it's a VAIO. It looks neat, it looks clean, and it looks expensive. Every inch feels solid and well-thought-of. The location of the ports are pretty much the same as with other VAIOs', except for the side-mounted DVD drive, which, strangely, has the eject button located in front.

The keyboard is what we love most about the VAIO S's exterior. It's lit by LEDs that power up whenever you press the keys in the dark. The lights come in handy especially when you don't have a lamp in your bedroom or when the series of rolling blackouts suddenly hit your area. Of course, the fact that they're island-style keys makes them all the more beautiful because the LEDs make them look as if they're floating.
